Are you an empathic and vigilant ICU nurse with strong assessment skills? Are you able to handle high-stress situations and make critical decisions? Then we are looking for you! As an ICU nurse at the Horacio Oduber Hospital, you play a substantial role in the care coordination of our patients.
Care: Together with the intensivists of the HOH, you provide specialized care and support to patients in the ICU. You are part of a fast-paced department that thrives on teamwork and passion to provide high quality care, emotional support and guidance throughout the healthcare process.
Guidance: You provide instruction and guidance to student nurses, assistants, caregivers and interns.
Quality: You contribute to the promotion of quality nursing care by collaborating with physicians to ensure safe and effective patient care support and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. You demonstrate compliance with hospital safety policies and procedures.
As an ICU nurse, you perform many critical tasks, from administering medications to assisting practitioners with procedures to providing daily life support. You play a lead role in helping stabilize crisis and driving positive patient outcomes through assessments and interventions.
Job requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing, specialization in ICU;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Able to work well both independently and as a team;
- Problem solver, highly organized, flexible and observant;
- Able to deal with criticism and provide feedback;
- Has a great sense of responsibility and is able to perform well under pressure;
- Able to communicate in Dutch or English and is willing to learn Papiamento. Spanish is a plus;
- Has a patient- and service-oriented attitude.
Employment conditions
Salary and other employment conditions are in accordance with hospital policy. Scaling is according to FWG 3.0.
